Top 5 tips for brushing your teeth

Daily brushing and flossing are important because they remove plaque. If food particles are not removed, they can accumulate between the teeth and cause tooth decay and gum disease. Although brushing your teeth seems simple, many people do not brush as effectively as they should.

Here are some of the most common mistakes:

Choose the right toothbrush and change it regularly
Make sure the head of your toothbrush is flexible enough to reach all areas that need cleaning. Remember, soft bristles clean more effectively than hard bristles. You should brush your teeth at least twice a day and replace your toothbrush every 2-3 months or when the bristles start to wear out.

Do not brush your teeth too hard, and don't rush
When it comes to brushing, harder is not better. Plaque is soft and loose, so there's no need to scrub forcefully. We recommend spending at least 3 minutes on dental care, twice a day.

Don't forget to clean around the gums and your tongue
Bacteria often linger in hard-to-reach places, particularly around the gums. When brushing, focus on the entire tooth, including the enamel near the gums. For comprehensive oral care, also clean your tongue to help eliminate bad breath.

Use the correct brushing technique
Always brush your teeth by placing the bristles at the edge of the gums at a 45-degree angle. Begin brushing with small circular or vertical motions. Avoid brushing straight across your teeth. Make sure to brush all surfaces, including the front, back, and chewing surfaces of each tooth.

Use dental floss
Floss every day, either before or after brushing. Flossing removes bacteria between the teeth and helps keep your gums healthier, reducing the risk of diseases such as gingivitis and periodontitis.
